IAC九项教练精萃概述(中英文)

    ICF(国际教练联合会)和IAC(国际教练协会)是目前世界上最大的两大教练组织,都是由Thomas J. Leonard所创建的。ICF和IAC都提出了各自的教练能力标准,以建立行业标准,帮助推进教练行业在世界范围内的发展。ICF提出的教练能力标准叫做“ICF11项教练能力”,IAC提出的叫做“IAC9项教练精萃”,目前已经有人把“ICF11项教练能力”翻译成中文,而互联网上我还没有看到中文版本的“IAC9项教练精萃”,因此我利用这个周末的休息时间,把“IAC9项教练精萃”翻译成中文,以方便国内的教练同仁门更容易的了解,也欢迎大家转载传播。

    “ICF11项教练能力”与“IAC9项教练精萃”有很多相似的地方,同时也存在一些差异,我个人认为“IAC9项教练精萃”的标准要求更高,事实上IAC的CC(Cerificated Coach)认证难度比ICF的认证更难。

    IAC(国际教练协会,certifiedcoach.org)九项教练精萃的目的是为真正独立的教练认证培训机构提供一种基准和标准,同时这九项教练精萃并不隶属于任何的教练培训机构。我们的目的在于为当今教练的效果提供一种测评手段,特别的是,IAC在认证教练的时候,评委通过观察教练与两个不同客户的半小时教练环节来测评教练的教练技术的熟练程度。

    The purpose of the IAC Coaching Masteries™ is to provide the basis and standards for a truly independent certifying body, without allegiance to any coach training schools or organizations. Our goal is to create a vehicle for evaluating effective coaching in the moment. Specifically, the IAC® certification focuses on masterful coaching skills that are observable and can be measured by our certifiers during recorded, half-hour sessions with two different clients.

    The IAC Coaching Masteries™ were developed by an international team of coaches with the aim to produce clear standards and measures for what constitutes the highest level of coaching, and that can be understood in any culture around the world.

    Below is a description of the Masteries including the Titles, Definitions, Effects and Key Elements. The links (for members only) provide a listing of the Distinctions, Effective Behaviours, Ineffective Behaviours, Measures, Common Mistakes Coaches Make and Indicators the Coach Understands the Mastery for each Mastery that are used to assess the level of coaching mastery that happens within a coaching session.

    一、 建立及维持信任关系Establishing and maintaining a relationship of trust

    定义Definition

    确保为客户的个人成长、自我发现及转变提供一个安全的空间。Ensure a safe space and supportive relationship for personal growth, discovery and transformation.

    效果Effect
    1、客户打开自己来分享及接收信息。The client is open to sharing and receiving.
    2、客户把教练当成自己的拥护者。The client perceives the coach as a personal advocate.
    3、客户认为自己的转变及成长是可做到的。The client sees transformation and growth as manageable.
    4、客户对教练的结果有符合实际的期望并且愿意为教练过程负责任。The client has realistic expectations of results and responsibilities of coaching.

    关键元素Key Elements
    1、相互尊重及接纳。Mutual respect and acceptance.
    2、自信并且消除客户的恐惧。Confidence and reassurance.
    3、教练放下判断,客户对分享恐惧感到安全。The client feels safe to share fears without judgment from the coach.

    二、 觉察、肯定、扩展客户的潜能。Perceiving, affirming and expanding the client’s potential

    定义Definition

    识别并帮助客户认可及欣赏自己的优势与潜能。Recognizes and help the client acknowledge and appreciate his or her strengths and potential.

    效果Effect
    1、客户更加欣赏自己的个人能力与潜能。The client has greater appreciation of personal capabilities and potential.
    2、客户更愿意在自己目前的理念及策略之外采取行动。The client is more willing to take actions beyond current paradigms or strategies.

    关键元素Key Elements
    1、对客户的同理心。Being in empathy with the client.
    2、识别出客户更大范围的可能性。Recognizing a wider range of possibilities.
    3、鼓励并为客户赋能。Encouraging and empowering the client.
    4、挑战限制性信念。Challenging limiting beliefs.
    5、在合适的方面识别出客户的优势和支持其个人与组织的优势的意识Recognizing strengths of client and awareness of where strengths support personal and organizational goals (where appropriate).

    三、 倾听Engaged listening

    定义Definition

    教练全神贯注于客户的语言、微表情、言外之意,通过倾听客户未表达的内容,更深的觉察客户和客户对解决问题的资源的考虑。

    Give full attention to the words, nuances, and the unspoken meaning of the client's communication; the coach is more deeply aware of the client, his/her concerns and the source of the issue, by listening beyond what the client is able to articulate.

    效果Effect
    1、客户感到被理解而不是被判断。The client feels understood and validated – not judged.
    2、客户更放松及机敏地沟通。The client communicates more effortlessly and resourcefully.

    关键元素Key Elements

    1、教练关注客户的语言表达及非语言表达。The coach focuses on what the client expresses, both verbally and nonverbally.
    2、教练能听出客户未直接表达的内容。The coach listens beyond what the client articulates.
    3、教练能够注意到客户所说的与所做的或情绪之间的差异。The coach is alert to discrepancies between what the client is saying (words) and the client’s behavior and/or emotions.

    四、 当下处理Processing in the present

    定义Definition

    教练全神贯注于客户,在头脑、身体、心灵(或精神)等层面恰当地处理获得的信息,教练在适当的时候扩展客户在这些不同层面体验思考和问题的觉察。教练利用在教练过程中所发生的一切(如客户的行为、模式、情绪及与教练的关系等)来帮助客户产生更大的自我觉察以及进行积极、合适的行动。

    Focus full attention on the client, processing information at the level of the mind, body, heart and/or spirit, as appropriate. The coach expands the client’s awareness of how to experience thoughts and issues on these various levels, when and as appropriate. The coach utilizes what is happening in the session itself (client’s behavior, patterns, emotions, and the relationship between coach and client, etc.) to assist the client toward greater self-awareness and positive, appropriate action.

    效果Effect
    1、客户有能够自由的表达及有处理当前事实的能力。The client is free to express and engage with present reality.
    2、客户不受过去或者未来所担心的事情的妨碍。The client is unencumbered by past or future preoccupations or concerns.
    3、客户从教练过程的洞见中获益并且能够支持到身、心、灵的所有层面。The client benefits from coaching insight and support on all levels.
    4、教练能够高度的与客户的沟通形成和谐一致。The coach is highly attuned to subtle communications from the client.

    关键元素Key Elements
    1、教练觉察到教练环节过程中客户内在的动力及与教练之间的动力,并且理解这些动力如何对客户及教练过程产生影响。The coach is aware of the dynamics occurring within the session, within the client, and between coach and client, and understands how the dynamics are affecting the client and the coaching.
    2、教练在头脑、身体、心灵三个层面对客户的沟通有同步及完整的觉察。The coach has a simultaneous and holistic awareness of the client’s communications at all levels.
    3、教练能辨明客户的沟通是在过去、现在、未来的哪一个阶段。The coach is able to discern whether the client is communicating from the past, present or future.
    4、教练给到客户机会来回应及弄清楚教练提出的问题和意见。The coach allows the client the opportunity to process and clarify the coach’s questions and comments.
    5、教练允许客户有时间处理自己的思路与反应。The coach allows the client the opportunity to process his or her own thoughts and responses.

    五、 表达Expressing

    定义Definition

    教练注意并觉察如何表达承诺、指示、意图、观点及沟通的有效性。Attention and awareness to how the coach communicates commitment, direction, intent, and ideas – and the effectiveness of this communication.

    效果Effect
    1、客户非常放松及信任地与教练进行互动沟通。The coaching interaction is enhanced with the client being at ease and trusting.
    2、客户能够开放地与教练沟通以及回应教练的任何问题。The client is open to understanding and/or questioning any communication from the coach.

    关键元素Key Elements
    1、尊重Respect.
    2、彬彬有礼Attentiveness.
    3、聚焦客户Client-focused.
    4、清晰Clarity.
    5、适当Appropriateness.

    六、 澄清Clarifying

    定义Definition

    减少、消除客户的困惑或不确定性,提高客户的理解能力与自信。Reduce/eliminate confusion or uncertainty; increase understanding and the confidence of the client.

    效果Effect
    1、客户与教练以更直接的方式向前推进。The client and the coach move forward in a more directed way.
    2、增加更多的可能性。Increased possibilities.
    3、减少不确定性。Decreased uncertainty.
    4、揭示未知领域。Uncovering the unknown.

    关键元素Key Elements
    1、在尊重客户的偏好及局限性的同时帮助客户识别最重要的事情。Identify the most important issue while respecting client’s preferences and limitations.
    2、教练不判断,不引领客户到一个特定的方向。No judgment by the coach, no leading toward a particular destination.
    3、识别出客户的关键价值观与需要。Identify key values and needs.
    4、引导客户的目的、愿景、使命的达成一致。Facilitate alignment of purpose, vision and mission.
    5、识别教练进程中的障碍。Identify blocks to progress.

    七、 帮助客户设定及坚持清晰的意图Helping the client set and keep clear intentions

    定义Definition

    帮助客户开始或者保持聚焦努力于想要的目标上。Helps the client become or remain focused and working towards intended goals.

    效果Effect
    1、客户感到自己有能力。The client feels capable.
    2、客户更清晰的知道自己想要完成或改变什么。The client is clear about what he or she wants to accomplish or transform.
    3、客户被更多的可能性所激发。The client is inspired by the possibilities.
    4、客户更有目的地向前发展。The client moves forward purposefully.

    关键要素Key Elements
    1、探寻客户的意图与目标。Inquiring into the client’s intentions and goals.
    2、在重要的事情上投入时间。Time spent on what is most important.
    3、清晰进展方向。Clarifying direction of progress.
    4、阶段性的回顾、调整或者庆祝过程与意图。Periodically reviewing, revising and/or celebrating the process and intentions.

    八、创造可能性 Inviting possibility

    定义Definition

    创造可以让思路、选择、机会出现的环境。Creating an environment that allows ideas, options and opportunities to emerge.

    效果Effect
    1、教练使客户扩展思路与行动。The coach enables expansion of thoughts and actions.
    2、客户的觉察得到扩展。The client’s awareness is expanded.
    3、教练帮助客户跨过障碍。The coach helps client transcend barriers.
    4、客户愿意离开自己的舒适区。The client is willing to leave his/her comfort zone.
    5、客户有更多的选择。The client has more options.

    关键要素Key Elements
    1、信任、开放、好奇、勇气、认识潜能。Trust, openness, curiosity, courage, and recognition of potential.
    2、教练与客户以探索和发现的方式进行沟通。The coach and the client communicate through exploration and discovery.
    3、识别出“内部”的可能性(如个人的卓越性、更高的意图等)和“外部”的可能性(如资源、文化基因等)。Identify “internal” possibilities (e.g., personal greatness, higher purpose) and “external” possibilities (e.g., resources, memes).
    4、教练或者客户,或者是二者同时产生新的可能性。Possibilities are generated by the coach, the client or a collaboration of the two.

    九、 帮助客户创造、利用支持环境与组织Helping the client create and use supportive systems and structures

    定义Definition

    帮助客户识别及构建前进或者维持进程所需要的关系、工具、系统及组织。Helping the client identify and build the relationships, tools, systems and structures he or she needs to advance and sustain progress.

    效果Effect

    客户确实能够向前发展,并且知道能获得或者创造所需要的资源。The client is confident and secure in moving forward, knowing that resources are available or can be created.

    关键要素Key Elements
    1、教练提出适合客户需要的可能的支持系统和组织。The coach suggests possible support systems and structures appropriate to the client’s needs.
    2、教练提醒客户找出自己目前未能很好利用的支持系统和组织。The coach prompts the client to identify support systems and structures the client has but is not utilizing effectively.
    3、教练帮助客户找出客户感到需要支持的领域。The coach assists the client to identify areas in which the client feels a need for support and structure.
    4、客户能够理解合适的支持系统的价值。The client understands the value of appropriate support systems.
    5、客户实现自己意图或者目标的进程是可持续的。The client’s progress toward their goals or intentions is more sustainable.
